Valterkalniņš Valmierā ir iecienīta pastaigu un satikšanās vieta skolēniem un pieaugušajiem. 17. gadsimtā, Zviedru laikā izveidots kā ravelīns (nocietinājums). Savu vietvārdu ieguvis vēlāk, no 18. gadsimta beigās, netālu dzīvojošās pazīstamās Valmieras baltvācu dzimtas - Valteriem, ārstiem un mācītājiem. Pats kalniņš atrodas ļoti gleznainā vietā Gaujas un Rātsupītes krastos.
