Hurá na letiště
Budík měl zazvonit v šest, ale Petr už byl dávno vzhůru. Dneska je velký den. Rychle do sebe cpal snídani a díval se z okna na nádherně modrou oblohu. Tu a tam na ní zahlédl šedou šmouhu, a na jejím užším, ostřejším konci – tak malé, že bylo sotva vidět – letadlo. Petr je pozoroval už od dětství, vystřihoval si jejich obrázky z časopisů, učil se je poznávat, zkrátka... zamiloval se do nich. Jenže za těch osmnáct let, co byl na světě a letadla mu nad hlavou kreslila šmouhy po obloze, ještě nikdy v žádném z nich neseděl.
A právě proto je dneska velký den.
Někomu by se mohlo zdát, že týdenní kurz angličtiny není moc dobrý dárek za úspěšně složenou maturitu, ale Petrovi rodiče dobře věděli, že pro něj to bude opravdový zážitek. Když před měsícem otevřel obálku s poukázkou na kurz a slušným kapesným na týden v Londýně, tiše čekali a pozorovali, jak jeho oči letí po papíře. A pak se rozzářily. Právě totiž narazily na kouzelné slůvko: LETECKY.
Petr se do Londýna těšil, ale ještě víc se těšil na letiště a na samotný let. A proto taky vyrážel do Prahy už časně ráno. V deset dopoledne vystupoval s kufrem v ruce z autobusu před Terminálem 1. K odbavení se měl hlásit až v 17:30, ale jestli se něčeho bál, tak snad jen toho, že mu těch pár hodin nebude stačit. Už jenom to, že se z vesnice v podhůří Krkonoš dostal na letiště, pro něj byl veliký svátek, a když tady jednou byl, chtěl vidět všechno! Popadl kufr a zamířil na informace.

Arriving at the Airport
The alarm clock went off at six o'clock, but Petr was already wide awake. Today was the big day. He quickly finished breakfast and looked out at the sky above. He saw a couple of grey streaks across the blue, and at the sharp end of each one of them - so tiny it was barely visible - an airplane. Petr was watching them since he was a child, he cut out pictures from magazines, learned to distinguish them... in short, he fell in love with airplanes. But in all of his eighteen years he never got to see one from the inside.
And that is why today was the big day.
Some might say a one-week English course is not the best present for finishing high school with flying colours, but Petr's parents knew he will really enjoy it. A month ago they handed him the envelope with a voucher and decent pocket-money for a week in London. They waited and watched while Petr read... and then they saw his eyes lighten up, as they found the words BY PLANE.
Petr was looking forward to see London, but the flight there and back was the real treat for him. Therefore he left for Prague early in the morning. At 10 AM he was getting off the bus at Terminal 1. He was supposed to check in at 5:30 PM, but still he worried those few hours won't be enough. Just going to Prague and getting to see the airport was so special to him, and since he was here already, he wanted to see all of it! He grabbed his suitcase and headed for the information counter.
