Det berättas att stiftet och biskop Tegnér ville slå ihop Forsheda och Torskinge församlingar och bygga en gemensam kyrka. Det står i en kunglig kungörelse från 1830. Det ville inte torskingeborna i alla fall. De stred för sin lilla vackra medeltidskyrka och de fick till slut rätt. I Forsheda byggdes en ny kyrka som invigdes 1869. Det finns en muntlig tradition i byn om att det var just här som den gemensamma kyrkan skulle ha stått. Rannäs ligger ju mittemellan.

It is told that Bishop Tegnér in 1830 wanted to build a new church instead of the old churches in Forsheda and Torskinge. But the villagers in Torskinge fought for their little beautiful medieval church and they succeeded. In Forsheda a new church was built in 1869. There is a local story here in Rannäs that it was right here the new church was suppose to be built. Rannäs is located between Forsheda and Torskinge.
