Heathlake Nature Reserve is a great place to walk, or to bring your dog, or have a picnic. The area is a combination of woodland and heathland, and boasts the only acid lake in Berkshire, which supports a variety of wildlife and rare plants, such as the water-milfoil, and the 6-stemmed water crowfoot. Therefore, this a site of Special Scientific Interest, and the cache has been placed just off the path, in order to minimise the impact on the environment. Many thanks to the Countryside Service for allowing me to place the cache here.
The name of the cache is Choose Your Own Adventure, for isn't that what caching is all about? I hope the contents spark your imagination.
When placed, the contents included: logbook and FTF prize, Travel Bug, Choose Your Own Adventure book (flashback to the 80s), an Indiana Jones book, chalk, rainbow pencils, karabiner clips, magnets, hand sanitiser, kids' watch, toy glider. Please trade fairly, and have fun!
There was originally a disposable camera inside, and finders took some great shots (thank you!). But the next camera went missing, and as I don't want to risk anyone's photos going astray, I won't replace it. But I love to see your pictures, so please do upload your own if you'd like to!
This is my first cache, and I have done my best to get accurate coords, but if you have any problems, please let me know.
Heathlake has its own free car park.
