This is a straightforward multi, involving collecting a few values around the church to give you the location of the cache.
The current building of the parish church of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary dates mainly from the fourteenth century, although these are based on the remains of a Norman (C12) footprint, and modifications were made right up to the early C19.
Of particular note within the building are the Norman tub font, the Parish Chest (c1250), and stained glass from around 1350. The porch over the south door is from about 1500, although the ironwork from the inner door is considerably older.
There is no designated church car park, so please park where you can in the village, with consideration for residents and other traffic. As you make your way into the church yard under the lych gate, note the carved inscriptions on each side. One word differs. Take the number of letters in the shorter word from the number of letters in the longer word and call this difference C.
Make your way to the main porch in front of the south door. Above the entrance is a relatively new stone carving of Mother and Child. Estimate how tall this carving is to the nearest foot, and call this D.
From here walk clockwise round the building. Examine the timber door at the west end and count the number of vertical planks making up the door. This will give you F.
Continuing round the church, on the north side you will find a stone tablet bearing some Greek letters, including at each side the well-known A (alpha) and ω (omega), signifying The Beginning and The End and widely used in Christianity. Don't worry, I'm not going to ask you translate the rest! Simply count the number of Greek characters in the top row to give you B, and the number of Greek characters in the bottom row to give you E.
One more value to collect, from the memorial to "A dear son and brother remembered with love". The years shown are 1979 - 199A.
