Geocache Description:

Oval Cricket

The Wherigo cartridge is an implementation of the Tower of Hanoi logic puzzle, but set in the world of cricket in honour of the location. All the action takes place in the area of the centre circle of the grass area, between the two seats.

The wicket has been set up at the bowler's end, but it needs to be at the batsman's end. The wicket consists of three parts - the bails (top), stumps (middle) and the turf (bottom). You can only move the top piece at any location and they can only be put down on the bowler's end, the batsman's end, or with the umpire, who has kindly agreed to help. The pieces can only be put down in the right order - you can place the bails, stumps or turf directly on the location, the bails can sit on the stumps and the stumps on the turf, but the turf cannot be placed on the stumps or bails, and the stumps cannot be placed on the bails. If this happens everything disappears and you have to start again.

Obviously people could be sitting on the seats. The zones for each areas extend well behind the seats and the flower beds behind them, so you can drift around looking at your phone - I had to do it on one of my test runs. Most of the Wherigo can be undertaken by a wheelchair user, but the final collection and replacement of the cache would be difficult.

**************************************

The cache, a bison tube, is not at the given coordinates. To find the location of the cache you will need to undertake the Wherigo. If you have sorted out the logic of the moves then the main part of the Wherigo can be undertaken in about 5 minutes, but there is a walk of about 400m to the cache, due to proximity issues.

Find out more information about Wherigo caches here. Download the cartridge you need to play the Oval Cricket WhereIGo here.

I have tested this cartridge on a simulator and in the field using the Android WhereYouGo app on a phone and tablet and did not experience any problems. Any feedback about the functioning of the cartridge would be gratefully received.
