Kerepehi Dairy Factory
From time to time we travel this route between Tauranga and Auckland, sometimes returning the same day. We have got into the habit of stopping to find a cache or two as a good excuse to take a break from driving, and decided to place a few ourselves.
The old Kerepehi Dairy Factory can be seen from GZ. The 6470sq m factory was built in the 1980s and has been used for storage by a local businessman since it closed in 1991. Apparently the factory was considered state-of-the-art when it was constructed in 1980. It's been bought by a Chinese company and will be made into an icecream factory sometime in 2014. Scoop for the Waikato
The cache is a screwtop container holding a log sheet only, so please bring your own pen. It has room for small swaps and TB's. Please exercise stealth and rehide the cache well with natural material from the vicinity - be gentle with the container and don’t drop th3 rock on it though!!nd The cache also contains one of the clues you will need to locate the T2A-R: Auckland Bonus cache.
FIRST TO FIND: funkymunkyzone & slieschke. Congratulations!
