FTF Race

On Saturday morning, before 8:30, bring us your GPS, and we will download the coordinates into it. You will have to leave it on a table in plain sight until the race start time, then everyone can pick up their GPS at 8:30, and head out hunting. Included will be a list of 15 caches for a FTF race which is part of the NorthStar GeoSeeking Weekend main event. There will be a card in each cache with FTF on it. Collect as many as you can and bring them to the Tractor Club Grounds before 3:00 PM and the person with the most will win a prize.

Padlock Game

Before 10:30, bring us your GPS, and we will download the coordinates into it. You will have to leave it on a table in plain sight until the race start time, then everyone can pick up their GPS and head out hunting at 10:30. Included will be a list of 15 caches for the padlock game which is also part of the NorthStar GeoSeeking Weekend main event. There will be numbers on the cache containers that you will use to eliminate numbers that will give you the combination to the padlock to the final cache. These caches will not have FTF cards in them, so they are not part of the FTF race. If there are people in line to try the padlock, you get one try to open the lock, then the next group in line gets a turn.

Poker Run

Five of the padlock game caches will have sealed envelopes with playing cards in them. Pick whatever color of deck you want to play with (there will probably be three different colors) and only take cards of that color, but DO NOT break the seal on the envelope. Envelopes with broken seals will be disqualified. The best poker hand of each color deck will win a prize.

Kids Games

There will be games to play at the Tractor Club Grounds going on all day. Games will include Plant the flag, blow darts, creative cache contest judging, temporary kid caches on the Tractor Club Grounds, kick the can, guess how many bison tube guts in the jar, geobingo, photo booth, and there will be a set of Chirp caches to try out.

Tarvel Bug Race

The travel bug race will begin at 3:00 PM. You must "drop off" your new travel bug with zero miles into this event, and fill out an official entry form to enter the race. After starting out here, see how far your bug can go. At next year's event, bring a printout of your travel bug's mileage, and whoever's went the farthest gets a prize. You can't move your own travel bug, and someone will be monitoring all bugs entered.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded at 3:00 PM. All registered caching names will be put into a drawing to try to win the grand prize of a Garmin Oregon 200 T, plus other prizes.

We hope to see a lot of people here. Come meet some friends, both old and new!

If you plan to attend this event, please put it on your watchlist so you will be informed of updates as they happen
