Geocache Description:

This is part of a short and easy series of 4 caches in the San Domingo Wash. The wash is accessible a short distance east of Wickenburg on US 60. Look for the sign to Hansen. High clearance 4X4 is recommended.

Use caution when approaching the dam. There are large boulders you need to avoid hitting with your vehicle. This is a neat area to explore but also use caution when at the top of the dam as there is nothing to stop you from falling over the edge if you get too close. Watch the kids and pets and as always, watch out for nasty desert critters. In 1910, a miner, Mr. Sanger, built a dam across San Domingo Wash and started sluicing, but the reservoir filled up with sand and gravel before operations had proceeded for one season. Dry-washing and rocking have been carried on in the area every year since its discovery and have supplied a large proportion of the placer production of Maricopa County.

Cache is a medium size plastic container with a screw on lid. Please replace it as intended, with the lid tightly closed to protect from moisture.

Original contents include:
Wooden Nickel
Fighter Jet
