SideTracked - Goring and Streatley Traditional Geocache

As it says on the SideTracked website "We have Motorway Mayhem. We have A-Road Anarchy (cos there aren’t many Motorways in Wales!). But what about public transport users? SideTracked Caches are intended to provide quick Cache-and-dashes at Train Stations."

This cache is another in the ever-expanding SideTracked series that began at Evesham station in 2007.

Goring & Streatley railway station serves the twin villages of Goring-on-Thames and Streatley. The station is in Goring which is in Oxfordshire. The village of Streatley is in Berkshire. The two villages are connected by a beautiful bridge over the River Thames, a ten minute walk from the station.

The station is served by local services operated by First Great Western (FGW) with frequent trains to London and Oxford.

The station is on the original line of the Great Western Railway, which opened on 1 June 1840. Originally named Goring, it was renamed Goring & Streatley on 9 November 1895.

There are three exits from the station. One from platform 4 which is at the front of the station, leading to the station car park, and two from platform 1.
