Geocache Description:

This cache is located in a valley.

Although the nearby mineral spring is known since the Roman times, there were also time periods in the history, when the valley was desolate - after 1529 and after 1683. This was caused by two raids of the Turks.

After the treaty of Pressburg (Pozsony, Bratislava) in 1491, the territory belonged to Austria. However, in 1590 the lord of Kittsee (Köpcsény, Kopčany) occupied the village by force. During the times of magyarization in the Kingdom of Hungary (1868-1918), the village had the name Nemesvölgy (Noble valley in Hungarian).

The mineral spring was re-discovered in 1890. In 1925 it started to be commercially utilized and, in 1932, spa was built here and this was offcially recognized in 1965. In 2003, the spring was bought by Coca-Cola HBC, a company based in Zug, Switzerland.
