Barn Bluff Rock Traditional Geocache

This cache is on the top of Barn Bluff, overlooking the Mississippi River valley and the city of Red Wing. The view is great and the walk from the parking lot is just under one mile. It is a bit of a climb, but the trail is wide and well maintained. Stay on the trail and it's a safe walk for people of all ages. Stop on the way up and find "Kiwanis Stairway" (GC4R8G4). This cache is hidden in a similar fashion, so you will know where to look.

It's a micro - a small container with room just for the log. Bring your own pen or pencil to sign the log.

Enjoy the view of the river and the town of Red Wing. Do not go on the north trail, which the city has closed because of dangerous sections. They plan to fix the trail in the near future, but for now it is wise to stay off of it. There have been fatalities along that section over the years, so heed the posted warning. The prairie trail along the top of the bluff is safe, so enjoy a walk to the south end to get other views of the river.
