THE SERIES
This cache is part of the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breathtaking view. Its a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website.
THE STATION
Built in 1841, Nailsea and Backwell station (formerly just 'Nailsea') is one of the last currently existing railway stations to join the series in the North Somerset area. The station is on the Bristol to Exeter line and consists of two platforms, making the station frequently used. It is closely connected to two major stations, Temple Meads and Weston-super-Mare. It serves nearby towns and villages like Wraxall and Flax Bourton, along with the town and village in its name. What makes this station unusual is that it sits on a 12m high embankment above a distinctive tunnel which connects the main road spanning below it. This also helps for ease of transport.
THE CACHE
Cache is a nano on a footpath very close to the station. Due to the lack of pavement and awkward traffic light system means this path can sometimes be difficult to reach, hence extra terrain. If this is the case, take a short walk up the road in the Backwell direction to the crossing beyond the bus stop. Turn left at the '56-76 Station Road' sign; this will take you onto the footpath (see waypoint)
