Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden for the Spring Cache Challenge 2014. Please do not look for until Friday, May 30, 2014 at 6p.m.

Oh no!  Q & A have hidden a challenging cache that no one can find.  See if you can!  This is a puzzle cache so it is not at the posted coordinates.  Rather, it is at the coordinates given from solving the puzzle listed below.  (48-degrees and 089-degrees are assumed).  Good Luck!surprise

Warning - 10 local NWOG geocachers have tried to solve this puzzle already in the past and failed... the first group of 5 are to be considered the "Northern Group" and the second 5 are to be considered the "Western Group".  Here are their stories...

"Challenge Accepted" exclaimed ShroomAzoom as he started looking for this cache.  Thinking he understood Q & A and their devious nature, Shroom started at the intersection of Marks St. North and Forest St.  First he started by walking down (south) on to the dead end of Marks St. North.  Not seeing anything, he retraced his steps until he was back at the intersection of Marks St North and Forest St.  At this point, he turned right (east) and continued searching as he walked along Forest St.  Upon hitting the intersection of Harold Crescent, Shroom turned right again (south) and walked down the entire crescent until he hit Northern Ave.  Still not finding it, ShroomAzoom was beginning to get frustrated so he paused to try to overthink this puzzle.  Then he quickly had an idea and turned left (east) and began running down Northern Ave.  He ran and ran, searching all the way until he ran out of breath at the intersection of Northern Ave. and Vickers St North.  He stopped at this point, plopped down on the ground and conceded that Q & A had gotten the better of him.  Logging a DNF, Shroom headed home.

"I really hate puzzles" said Hunter Killer, "especially from Q & A!"  Getting in their truck, they began at Atlantic Ave W and Alexandria St. and while naturally obeying all the posted speed limits, headed up (north) Alexandria St. until they came to the intersection of William St.  With tires screeching and dirt flying, Hunter Killer quickly turned left (west) on Williams St, barreling down the street, until a last minute hard brake kept them from becoming a water cache.  As the dust settled around the now stopped truck, colourful adjectives about Q&A and this cache were spoken.  Having enough of Q & A puzzles for today, Hunter Killer logged a DNF for this and headed home.

"We're going to get FTF on this one for sure" stated the Abramobeasts with confidence, believing they knew exactly where Q & A had hidden this cache.  Starting at the corner of Montreal St and Mountdale Ave, they headed down (south) towards the river and the boat launch waiting below.  Scouring the side of the road on both sides, they were surprised to come up empty.  Realizing they had a choice of walking into the river for a very cold swim or stopping and having to log a DNF, they stopped, logged the DNF and headed home.

"Come on Chester, we have a cache to find" Gheiny called excitedly.  Always one to love puzzle caches, Gheiny had been working on figuring out this one since the moment it was published.  He immediately went to the corner of Sunrise Blvd and Riviera Dr and began walking (west) on Riviera Dr towards Summerhill Dr.  Upon reaching Summerhill Dr he turned left (south) and walked until coming to Devon Way.  "Well, at least we're getting a good walk" said Gheiny as he and Chester turned left and continued (east) on Devon Way until it intersected with Sunrise Blvd.  Trying one more thought, Gheiny turned right (south) on Sunrise Blvd and walked until it crossed Summerhill Dr.  Admitting defeat, he muttered "this is as hard as a DPR cache" , logged a DNF and headed home.

" I guess they're getting us back for all of our hides in the forest where your GPS bounces all around" chuckled Poohma as they looked over the clues.  "Let's give this a try" they stated as they started at the corner of Andrew St and Frankwood Ave.  Walking east on Andrew St towards McBean St, they were sure the cache would appear.  However, upon reaching McBean St with no cache in sight, they turned right (south) on McBean St and headed towards Hollylane St.  Turning right (west) on Hollylane St, they continued towards Frankwood Ave.  Reaching Frankwood Ave with still nothing to show, they turned right (north) on Frankwood Ave and walked back up to Andrew St.  Stopping for a second, Poohma though "we must have missed something, the cache has to be here".  So they walked (east) on Andrew St towards McBean St again.  Turning right and walking down (south) on McBean St, Poohma decided to turn right (west) and walk down Hartland St this time.  Reaching where Hartland St intersected with Frankwood Ave, they finally stopped - stumped.  Scratching their heads, they logged a DNF and headed home.

"Responding now" grinned Ms Officer, turning on the rooftop lights for a bit of an unfair speed advantage.  Thinking she knew exactly where this cache was, she headed directly to the intersection of Theresa St and Bruce St.  Driving down (south) Bruce St, she was surprised that she went all the way down to where Parsons Ave intersected without finding the cache.  Stopping the car here, she laughed as she saw a certain truck with a travel bug on its window immediately slow down upon seeing the cruiser on the side of the road.  Doing her best Clint impersonation, she said "you made my day Q & A" and graciously logged a DNF and headed home.

"What are those guys up to now?" asked Mechman.  Never one to really think about puzzles, Mechman surprisingly solved most he tried, so he decided to go after this one from what he knew of Q & A.  Starting where Franklin St N intersected Cumming St, he headed down (south) on Franklin St N until he came to Victoria Ave E.  Reaching this intersection, Mech decided to turn left (east) on Victoria Ave E and walk until he came to Norah St N.  At Norah St N, Mechman turned left again (north) and walked up Norah St N until he came to Miles St E.  At Miles St E, Mechman turned left (west) and walked back until he was at Franklin St N.  Stopping, Mechman said "well, there goes the theory of walking in all north, west, east, south directions to solve this one."  Mechman logged the DNF with a winking smiley face and headed home.

"2014 will be our year" stated JungleBus, wanting to regain their crown.  "Let's do this" they exclaimed heading to the intersection of Arthur St E and Vickers St S. Going up (north) on Vickers St S, they kept their eyes peeled for the cached.  Reaching Victoria Ave E, they turned left (west) and continued searching until they came to Harold St S. Turning left (south) on Harold St S, the frustration was building.  "Where is it?" they asked, continuing down (south) to where Harold St S intersects with Donald St E.  Turning left again (east) they continued back to the intersection with Vickers St S.  Stopping here, they admitted that Q & A were getting good at this, logged a DNF and headed home.

"These guys keep getting more tricky every year" thought Sylentmyst as he headed out.  Thinking that he would swoop in and steal the FTF in HK's turf, he hurried to the intersection of Pacific Ave E and McInstosh St. Heading up (north) on McIntosh St he couldn't believe that the cache wasn't here... he'd been so sure.  Reaching the end of the McIntosh St, he stopped, and with regret, signed off on the DNF and headed home, wondering who would actually get this one first.

"Let's look at this practically" said The Pepsis. "There must be something in these clues that solves this puzzle" they remarked.  So the Pepsis headed to the intersection of Dease St and May St N.  Heading down (south) May St N to Bethune St, they did not find anything.  Turning right (west) on Bethune St, they continued looking until they got to Brodie St N.  At this juncture, they paused and thought "right or left"?  Deciding to turn right (north) on Brodie St N, they headed up to Dease St again.  "This is not making sense" said The Pepsis.  Turning right (east) they went back to their starting point at the intersection of Dease St and May St N.  "One last try" said The Pepsis, retracing their steps and heading down (south) on May St N again.  However, this time, The Pepsis decided to turn right (west) at the Cameron St intersection.  Walking until they came to Brodie St N, the still found nothing and decided to call it quits.  "This is a real hard one, but if I know Q & A, there is some obvious solution that we just haven't seen yet" said The Pepsis as they logged a DNF and headed home.

A of Q & A watched intently on the computer to see who would be the first to get his cache.  "Dad, everyone keeps getting a DNF on this and it is so simple" laughed A.  "Don't worry, someone will get this eventually, they just have to think like you" responded Dad.

Have Fun!
