This Geoart is part of a nationwide project; THE USA 50 STATE STAR GEOART celebrating every state in the USA ! Our Goal is to have a "50 STATE STAR" in each state of the USA. Look for the states that proudly display the "STAR" !





Maryland entered the Union as the 7th state on April 28, 1788. Maryland was founded as an English colony in 1634 by Cecil Calvert, the second Lord of Baltimore.

This 50 State Star celebrates the "Old Line State" of MARYLAND.


The Grand Opening for the Maryland State Star
When: Saturday, June 21, 2014
Where: American Legion, 10201 Lewis Drive, Damascus, MD
Time: 8:30 am to 10:00 am


The Maryland Star is made up of 51 unknown/puzzle caches. You will need to answer easy questions about our state for most of the caches which can be found online. The Star points and the center are puzzles which are a little more difficult about the State of Maryland.

Would love to have you all join us for the Grand Opening of the Maryland State Star --- this is a meet and greet event to celebrate this new Star Geoart. The caches will be released the morning of the event, downloads will be available during the event with solved coordinates. After the event, the puzzles will need to be solved to find the caches.

The caches are all located along hiking/biking trails and are not park and grab caches.
