Paddock Wood Perambulation
This Wherigo cache starts at The Old Churchyard and takes you on a walk around Paddock Wood.
Paddock Wood was a hamlet in the parish of Brenchley until the coming of the South Eastern Railway on 31 May 1842. The station was initially called Maidstone Road Halt, but all the locals referred to it as Paddock Wood, after the woodland that had been destroyed to build it. After two years the railway company renamed the station. This Wherigo will take you for a walk around some of the town’s historical places and introduce you to the world first that occurred in Paddock Wood.

The cache, a magnetic film can, is not at the given coordinates, which are at the entrance to the recommended car park (free parking for 1 hour, but there is also some on-road parking). To find the location of the cache you will need to undertake a Wherigo which will lead you via some places of interest to the cache.
The Wherigo cartridge takes you on a walk of about 1 mile on the flat through Paddock Wood and can be completed in about 30-40 minutes. You will visit eight zones including the final location where you can find a physical cache. You must find the cache if you want to log your find on the Geocaching.com website.
At each zone, you are required to answer a simple question about things you can see in the locations you visit. If you get the answer wrong, you will be able to try again, or you can skip the question. You can only skip one question as you go round if you want to complete the cache. If you experience any problems, try walking outside the zone you are in and re-entering the zone.

WARNING: The area is busy. You will need to cross main roads and there is plenty of traffic around - please take care, particularly if you have children with you. All of the route is paved and could probably be managed by a wheelchair user.
