Geocache Description:

This is the last cache along the Peace River Trail .. at least for now.  The trail is a multi-use trail.  Please ensure you have adequate food and water. Cell service is spotty so please use a GPS..< /p>

2014 was the year of the Smith Centennial, or at least for the name of Smith. In reality there has been European settlement since 1798 with the first recorded trading post. That is over 220 years. Aboriginal history in the area is centuries old.

This beautiful area will continue to be called home by people who do or have lived here.

The stories told are real, with some interpretation of the author. There are many more to tell with proper documentation.

If you have stories, facts or photos of the region we are always interested so we can document the diverse history of this historically important area.
