Geocache Description:

Located in the Soda Flats area, this cache can be accessed by foot, quad or horse. As with the other caches in this area it may be a significant hike but when you reach it you will have a view of a big meadow.  Many of these meadows were sources of hay for farm animals.

Some of the farm animals In the early 1990’s met with strange happenings in this neck of the woods.  It started with one farmer working late at night with a couple of his buddies on a vehicle.  When they were done one of the guys jumped in his truck and left.  The other two were standing next to a pickup when one noticed that there was something on fire inside the truck.  They went to look and it became apparent that it wasn't in the truck but a reflection of something above them.  Suddenly the “prettiest green’ was in the air around them.  It even made their skin appear green.  When it disappeared they phoned their buddy to ask if he saw it.  He had no idea what they were talking about.

To them it appeared that the weird light covered about 30 acres.  Later they would find out that another witness saw a tube of green light come from the red disk above them.

The next day they went to check on their cattle as all farmers do.  The herd was in good shape other than one cow that had been mutilated.  He said that it was like her tail was lifted and a 12” hole was cut with a 10” knife.  The most amazing thing was the complete lack of blood in an around the cow.   Several other farmers found their cows in a similar state around that time.

The next day the first farmer said that choppers were flying around the area.  At first he didn't think much of it until another friend came over who happened to be a chopper pilot.  He reported that all choppers were grounded for the day.  After the other events it seems a little suspicious.  To this day we can only guess as to the origins of the lights were and I suspect it will be that way for years to come.
