Geocache Description:

This is a simple Mutli. The cache is not at the co-ordinates published, but a short walk away.

The building of the Baptist Chapel in 1827, and its enlargement In 1862, were due to the single minded determination of William Thomas Buckland (1798-1870), a local farmer, surveyor and auctioneer. William Buckland wanted to provide an alternative place of worship for non-conformists to St Andrews Church, so he designed the building himself and was the principal minister until his death.

The new chapel, with its elegant slender tower was opened on 16 October 1862; the building works had cost around £800

At the published co-ordinates you will be able to see the following…

A plaque in memory of the men of Wraysbury who gave their lives during the First World War.

Looking at this Plaque

A = the number of people with the surname 'Otterway'

B = the number of people with the surname ‘Buck’

Above this plaque in an Arch is written a phrase that begins with the first 8 words……. I was glad when they said unto me….

C= the number of letters in the 14th word

D = the number of letters in the 17hh (and final) word

Above this is a very interesting terracotta relief panel, which  was created by the renowned Doulton & Co artist George Tinworth and is signed with his monogram.

On this panel can be seen the Door of ??? into the City of ????

E = the number of letters in the missing word ‘The Door of ????’

F = the number of letters in the missing word ‘The City of ????’

You do not need to enter the church grounds at any stage, everything is clearly visible from the pavement.

The final cache can be found at N51 27.D(C-A)A and W000 33.B(F÷A)(E-C) which is a short walk away, but it’s not in the church grounds so don’t look there.

You are looking for a camouflaged micro a little larger than a 35mm film pot.

Happy Hunting

Congratulations Nomad and Ki on FTF
