Geocache Description:

Welcome back to the third round of one of the largest Geocaching events in the West. This event features up to 50 hidden cache locations in and around the magnificent Lake Tahoe Basin. You will experience the South Shore area of Lake Tahoe's scenic beauty, outdoor recreation, crisp clean air and high altitude fun. Be sure you don't miss out on this unique Bi-State event that attracts cachers from as far away as Wisconsin and Guam.

NOTICE: Do to the departure of our previous host the venue for this year has changed to a "Self Sponsored Event" which means there will be a small cover charge to participate in the cache course. There are no other activities scheduled for the mornings of the event. Final details by Team GeoTahoeSouth are still in the works but kids with paying adults will be free; so please mark this page on your watch list for additional announcements or you can contact 4Woodys through his profile page.

This year's two day High Sierra Geocaching extravaganza is scheduled for June 21st & 22rd with a wrap up event raffle on Sunday at 4 PM.  Donations for the raffle will be gladly accepted.  So come join us and fellow cachers from near and abroad next to Starbucks at 1062 Emerald Bay Road at the Y shopping center in South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.

You will need to be present each day with your GPS and cable at 8:30 AM to register and get your payment ticket to receive the Waypoint downloads. Caches will be released at 9:30 AM, then you can start your caching journey into one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Dogs are allowed on leash at most sites except where signs are posted.  Also, don't miss out on the pre-event pizza night on June 20th (visit link)

Difficulty and terrain levels will vary at the selected cache locations for this event and do not reflect the start/end location.  We hope to have most of the reviewer approved caches released the following week on the Geocaching web site.
