Rocket Science in Slovene Silicon Valley Traditional Geocache

The first part of the name of this cache will become clear to you once you hold it in your hands. The explanation for the second part follows below.

Please, make sure that the micro/small-sized rocket is well-fixed before you leave the launching area!    

Welcome to the Slovene Silicon Valley!

Close to where the cache is hidden you will see the brand-new homestead of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology (Fakulteta za kemijo in kemijsko tehnologijo) and the Faculty of Computer and Information Science (Fakultete za računalništvo in informatiko).

This quite impressive architectural landmark with its high-tech construction is definitely worth a visit. I particularily like the futuristic, round, and glassy library in the middle which connects the two separate faculties and serves as some kind of synergetic meeting point of chemists and computer scientists. Check it out for yourself! The building is just around the corner from ground zero. You cannot miss it.

The first student generation started their studies in autumn 2014. And who knows, maybe a new Friderik (Fritz) Pregl (Slovene-Austrian chemist and physician who won the Nobel Price in Chemistry in 1923) will soon begin his/her groundbreaking and epoch-making work in the laboratory of the new Faculty of Chemistry.     

Also not very far from ground zero is the so-called Technology Park of Ljubljana (Tehnološki park). The idea of the Technology Park is to >>create a supportive and stimulating business environment for the development of high technology entrepreneurship<< (quote taken from their website) and promote the best start-up ideas.

Let’s hope that it is not all about business and making money and that some really good and innovative ideas for a better future will be born here in the Slovene Silicon Valley!

One final piece of advice before you head out:

After heavy rain access to the cache site will be a lot more difficult and the terrain value could increase to 4. In this case I strongly advise you to exchange your patent leather shoes for rubber boots.
