We’re intensely proud that Ayrshire is the birthplace of Robert Burns, Scotland’s National Bard.
Globally revered, Burns’ works are renowned for their portrayals of everyday 18th Century life, his love for the “Lassies” and his staunch belief in the equality of Man.
This Event will take you to the very heart of Burns country in Alloway at the National Trust for Scotland’s Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. Don’t miss this opportunity to visit The Auld Clay Biggin’ where Burns was born on 25th January 1759, Alloway’s Auld haunted Kirk, Brig o’Doon of Tam o’Shanter fame and the elegant Burns Monument and Gardens.

National Trust volunteers are hosting
free guided tours around the area to offer you a unique encounter with the poet, visiting the historic landmarks where he set his epic supernatural poem, Tam o’Shanter.
The first tour will begin at 11am and the last tour at 2pm. Each tour will last for approximately one hour.
Meet us at the entrance to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum where we will log your attendance and allocate you a slot in a tour group. Tour groups will be assembled on a first come first served basis. Take the opportunity to swap trackables and make geochat with others between tours or simply visit the excellent facilities on site. Take a stroll round the Poet's Path or explore the museum garden and soak in the atmosphere of this iconic area.
Auld Alloway Kirk, the Brig o’Doon and the Burns Monument and Gardens are free to visit. The Burns Museum Centre itself contains all modern conveniences that a visiting family might need.
There is ample
free parking in and around the museum area.
