A day of canoeing or kayaking on Lake Washington. What the heck might as well...since last years float was so much fun. Fun deversion and adventrue for people who will be in town for the Block Party the next day. Please note that this event is on Friday, sorry for the folks that have to work. Paid parking is available directly in front of the Waterfront Activites Center for $3.00 per hour but if the weather is good it will be well worth it. The paddle usually takes between 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
Bring your own boat or rent one at the Waterfront Activites Center. There has been quite a few questions about the canoes that are rented. They are for the most part very stable and recommended for the couple of caches that are on land. Check out the Related Web Page for the more information. We will paddle along Foster Island and in and out of the many waterways of the Arboretum. As expected there looks to be a very large turnout and if needed I will make two trips
Rental cost for a canoe is $9/hour
You must be 18 years old to rent and have valid ID
We will meet at the Waterfront Activities Center at 09:48 am
3900 Montlake Blvd. N.E.
I seem to come up without somebody to be in my canoe with me. I propose a game, bring one unactivated geocoin to throw into a hat. The first coin pulled out is my boat mate. Subsequent pairs will be boat mates. Call it a mixer of sorts. Wanna play?
