Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the published co-ordinates.

The cache is a small container with room for logbook and tiny swappables. There is no pen, so please bring your own.
Tree cover may interfere with your GPS, but it still shouldn't be too much of a challenge, especially if you use the hint.

Please replaced the cache firmly and let me know if any maintenance is needed. Thank you.

Puzzle Caches for Kids: Butterfly
#30 - Fowl Play

To find this cache let's see if you can spot some of the rarer wild birds in Britain.

I created these Puzzle Caches for Kids because my own children saw me trying to solve some of the trickier puzzle caches and asked why there weren't any that they could try to solve.

I wanted to find a theme that both boys and girls could find interest in, so I decided to concentrate on a wildlife and countryside theme and create them in the shape of a butterfly.

At this point, I need to admit that I am not the clever one who created this wonderful shape - that honor goes to nognod, a fellow geocacher, who is skilled at creating shapes with co-ordinates and who offered his help with all aspects of getting these caches ready for publication, after creating many of his own often in clever shapes on the map.He is also willing to help anyone else who wishes to do something similar - just contact him through his geocaching profile page.

Thanks must also go to archaos who kindly agreed to move one set of his cache co-ordinates so it would be easier to fit the butterfly in this area.

Obviously, these caches aren't just for kids, but they are aimed at a level that kids won't find too difficult and adults should be able to do fairly easily - younger kids may need some assistance.

I have set out the caches in two routes of 15 caches each, each route taking maybe 2-4 hours depending on how fast you walk and how often you stop for a breather, but the caches may be done in smaller groups - if you wish to do this, you need to consider carefully where to park, as this area is quite hilly.

Enjoy!

Solve the anagrams and match them to their photos.

Then count the letters in each one to find the co-ordinates.
COVEAT . LOWYAWNT . THITTHROWEA
NETNIL . KODEROCEWP . TALONEDITLIGT
STREELK . DRINGLANSE . GERLINGHULR
ZARBZUD . WEDIGLAPIAT . TREEBINGDUN

Cache co-ordinates can be found at -

N 50 52.(No. of letter E in C+D+G+L)(T's in B+E+I+J)(W's in F) , W000 05.(Z's in A)(N's in H)(S's in G+K)

As several people have not been able to find this cache and someone had even repleced it with another one, believing it had gone missing, we took a trip over there to check it out, only to find the original cache in exactly the right spot! So, we considered leaving it where it was and upping the difficulty level, but as this series is meant for kids, we decided we would move it to an easier location approx.1-2m away. With this in mind, it should now be a lot easier to find, even without a change in co-ords, but if you take away .002 from the Northings and add. 002 to the Westings, you'd be spot on! The hint still applies! Hope this helps.
