Geocache Description:

The 2014 Geocaching Colorado Board is proud to bring you the largest GeoArt in this beautiful state of Colorado! Thanks to many volunteers, this GeoArt will provide you with Geocaching Colorado pride and a great way to learn more Colorado trivia.

This is not a "power trail". Although there are 1,005 Geocaches, the focus is the GeoArt. Caches are not every 528 feet and some have to be far apart to stay within the 2-mile distance rule. PLEASE refrain from placing caches within the artwork. There is plenty of room for additional caches, but these will block out the art that has been carefully planned and laid out.

Some notes added: Please do not find these at night! I truly understand the need to get as many as you can and there just isn't enough daylight, but these are working ranches and in their experience, night=theft and vandalism. They will not take kindly to it.
Do NOT litter. I have had several emails letting me know that cachers, of all people, are leaving trash instead of picking it up.
The cattle are open range there. Be careful. The fences don't keep them off the roads, they keep them out of the wheat fields.

All of the placements are on public roads, please stay on these roads. Some of these roads may have grazing cattle, cache with caution and also respect the area and the farmer's property. REMINDER: Puzzles, Wherigos and Letterbox Hybrids are not at posted coords. Please do not leap frog letterboxes or containers larger than micro.

Details: Denver was founded on November 22, 1858. Denver City served as the Arapahoe County Seat from 1861 until it became its own county in 1902. In 1865, Denver City became the Territorial Capital. With its new-found importance, Denver City shortened its name to just Denver. On August 1, 1876, Denver became the temporary state capital when Colorado was admitted to the Union, and a statewide vote in 1881 made Denver the permanent state capital.
