Dieser Cache soll euch eine der schönsten Ecken in Aachen nahe bringen. Er führt euch über mehrere Stationen durch zwei sehenswerte Parks im Aachener Süden.
Geparkt werden kann am Straßenrand bei den angegebenen Koordinaten oder man nimmt die Buslinie 2 bis Haltestelle Schillerstraße oder Buslinie 53 bis Haltestelle Habsburgerallee. Los geht es an den angegebenen Koordinaten. Von dort aus seht ihr zwei Steinsäulen, die den Eingang zur ersten „grünen Oase“ zeigen. Merkt euch die Koordinaten dieser Säulen.
Geht von hier aus in den Park hinein und in westlicher Richtung hindurch. Hier trefft ihr auf eine Straße in deren Mitte sich ein Grünstreifen befindet, auf dem sich ein kleines Haus befindet. Merkt euch auch diese Koordinaten.
Haltet nun Ausschau nach den drei „rotbraunen Missionaren“. Geht noch ein Stück weiter und geht dann in westlicher Richtung zu einem kleinen kreisförmigen „Hügel“ mit weißer Umradung. Findet den Schnittpunkt aller Durchmesser des Kreises und merkt euch dessen Koordinaten.
Von hier aus könnt ihr zwei weitere Steinsäulen entdecken, die euch den Weg in einen „kaiserlichen Garten“ weisen. Wandelt auf geradem Wege durch den Garten bis ihr ein Gewässer erreicht. Umrundet dieses im Uhrzeigersinn bis ihr einen Bogen durchschreitet. Links von euch befindet sich ein Pavillon, dessen Koordinaten ihr euch merken müsst.
Jetzt habt ihr alle vier Koordinaten zusammen und könnt nun drei weitere Koordinaten bestimmen. Legt dazu durch zwei der gemerkten Punkte eine Gerade und durch die zwei weiteren Punkte eine zweite Gerade. Der Schnittpunkt der beiden Geraden ist eine der drei gesuchten neuen Koordinaten. Wiederholt das Ganze noch zweimal indem ihr verschiedene Punkte für die Geraden benutzt.
Jetzt habt ihr drei weitere Koordinaten berechnet. An zwei der Koordinaten findet ihr Hinweise zum Öffnen des Caches, an der dritten Koordinate findet ihr den Cache. Welche Koordinate welche ist, müsst ihr selber herausfinden. Geht zu einem der Schnittpunkte. Nun gibt es drei Möglichkeiten:
- Ihr befindet euch auf einer breiten Straße. 10 Meter westlich könnt ihr einen Hügel entdecken. Auf diesem Hügel seht ihr mehrere Bögen. A = Anzahl der Bögen
- Ihr befindet euch auf einer schmalen Straße. Wenn ihr den Weg etwa 40 Meter nach Osten lauft, kommt ihr an eine Kreuzung. Links von der Kreuzung ist im Gebüsch ein ungefähr 140 cm hoher, einzelner, aufrecht stehender metallischer Gegenstand verborgen. Am Standfuß befindet sich in 50 cm Höhe eine zweistellige Nummer. BC = diese Nummer
- Ihr befindet euch inmitten von Bäumen und Büschen. In der Nähe befindet sich ein Handlauf. Darin ist die Dose versteckt. Die Dose lässt sich öffnen, indem ihr den Code ABC benutzt. Bitte achtet darauf, das Schloss wieder zu verschließen und die Dose weit zurück zu schieben, wenn ihr geht.

Tipp: Wenn ihr die Geraden und die Koordinaten der Schnittpunkte nicht berechnen wollt, druckt einfach eine Karte mit den beiden „grünen Oasen“ drauf aus und zeichnet alles in die Karte ein. |

This cache lets you explore one of the loveliest spots in Aachen. It is guiding you on several stages through two parks worth seeing.
Parking is possible at the start coordinates along the road. You can also take bus line 2 until stop Schillerstraße or line 53 until bus stop Habsburgerallee. You start at the given coordinates. From here, you can see two stone columns, which mark the entrance to the first “green oasis”. Memorise the coordinates of the columns.
Enter the park and head in westward direction. You will come to a road which has a strip of green in its middle. On this green, a small house can be seen. Memorise the coordinates of the house.
Now look for three “red-brown missionaries”. Once you have arrived there, go a little bit further and then go in westward direction towards a small circular shaped “hill” with white border. Find the intersection point of all diameters and memorise its coordinates.
From this point, you may see two other stone columns which mark the entrance to an “imperial garden”. Stroll though the park on the straight way until you reach some waters. Walk around it clockwise until you cross an arch. To your left, you will find a pavilion. Memorise its coordinates.
Now you have gathered four coordinates and you are able to calculate three additional coordinates. Therefor, construct a straight line using two of the four coordinates and construct a second line using the remaining two coordinates. The intersection point of the two lines is one of the three additional coordinates you have to calculate. Repeat the procedure twice, but each time choose different coordinates for the two lines.
After this, you have calculated three additional coordinates. At two of these coordinates, you will find hints useful for opening the cache; at the third coordinate, you will find the cache itself. Which coordinate is which, you have to determine by yourselves. Go to one of the intersection points. Now, there are three cases:
- You are standing on a broad road. 10 metres to the west, you can spot a hill. On top of this hill, you see several arches. A = number of arches.
- You are standing on a small road. If you follow the road 40 metres to the east, you will reach a junction. On your left hand side, an approximately 140 cm long single upright metallic object is hidden in the bushes. At the support foot 50 cm above ground, there is a two digit number. BC = this number
- You are standing in the middle of trees and bushes. Close to you, there is a handrail. The box is inside the handrail. To open the lock use the code ABC. Please lock the cache and push it back far into the handrail, when you leave.
