This delightful church of St John the Baptist is in the centre of the village of Fladbury, and appropriately for its namesake, very close to the River Avon.
If you only have time to look for one feature, spot the green coloured Virgin and Child Panel of 14th century stained glass. Outside spot the head of Portia the Rectory dog on the North East corner of the Chancel - who attended daily matins with her owner, the Rector from 1975-1993.
Beyond the boundary of the Church and cemetery wall, tucked away behind the churchyard is a small wood with a clear footpath all around it. It was designated a Millenium Wood and created as a place of peace to be enjoyed by nature and by people. Appropriate benches are placed around the clear footpath with views out over the river and fields beyond. Sit a while and soak up the atmosphere.
