Geocache Description:

A K.C.G.O. Photo in a Flash
@ GeoWoodstock 2014

I'm sure everyone is planning a fun filled GeoWoodstock adventure for the weekend, right? I wanted to make sure we got the K.C.G.O. group together for a Photo in a Flash to help us remember the weekend. It will also be a good meeting point for anyone that wants to team up for a day of caching. Hopefully we haven't gotten into too much trouble by 8:45am. Meet at the Louis & Clark statue and we'll snap a photo of K.C.G.O. with Louis, Clark and Seaman. Then the GeoWoodstock event starts at 9am. Everyone is invited to participate in the Photo in a Flash, you don't need to be part of the K.C.G.O. family, just don't be late! And don't forget to sign the log book. Please keep in mind there is also an Irish Festival going on in the same area, it may take time to find parking, be prepared!

About the Louis & Clark Statue - This larger-than-life, 15-foot bronze monument features Meriwether Lewis and William Clark and Clark's Newfoundland dog, Seaman. The monument commemorates Saint Charles' unique tie to the Lewis & Clark Expedition; for it was from Saint Charles (then known as Les Petites Cotes) in May 1804 that Lewis & Clark met to gather final supplies before embarking to explore the Louisiana Purchase territory. Conceptualized by citizens in 1993, the monument cost $490,000 and took one year for artist Pat Kennedy to complete. It was dedicated on May 18, 2003, one year prior to the Expedition's 200th anniversary. The Lewis & Clark monument sits along the Missouri riverfront in Frontier Park.
