Geocache Description:

Oostrozebeke situated on the border of the sandy region (southern part) and the sandy loam region (northern part). the natural structure is strongly influenced by the Mandel and the associated valley area. The value of the valley as natural Mandel backbone of the region is widely recognized. It forms the ecological connection between the regionally important natural Mandel Hoek Ingelmunster and the Provincial Estate of the Bar Coulter Wakken (Dentergem). the Mandel Valley is strong anthropogenic influence and can not be considered as a whole. The development of Roeselare and Izegem large parts of the Mandel ingekokerd. From its origins in Passchendaele to Roeselare and Ingelmunster to its mouth in the Lys Valley Mandel is sprayed and the course straightened. As a result, there are cut off meanders. The further course of the Mandel Mandel and Old Brook is straightened. The nature is limited to a number places. Notwithstanding the straightening of the river and the land consolidation of the 70s - 80s, yet there are numerous small landscape elements in the valley.
