Deeping Baptist Church was started in 1839 by Frederick Tryon, who had been vicar of Deeping St James.
The original church building, in Bridge Street, is now a private house. It was called “Cave Adullam” - named after the refuge of King David and his band of men.
The present church building was erected in 1985, as the congregation outgrew the original building. It is also in Bridge Street, almost opposite High Locks, a short distance from the original church. It is set back from the road, in its own grounds, which include car parking space.
To help you find us, if you have not been to the church before, look out for the small “Baptist Church” signpost on the river side of Bridge Street.
“If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first at churchmicro@gmail.com so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list”
