Geocache Description:

About SideTracked

We have Motorway Mayhem. We have A-Road Anarchy (cos there aren’t many Motorways in Wales!). But what about public transport users? SideTracked Caches are intended to provide quick Cache-and-dashes at Train Stations.

This is an easy cache placed nearby to Sankey Railway Station. It can be done as a quick drive by as there is parking on the road near to GZ although it can be busy in the day.

The area is muggle central with cars passing at all times and lots of foot traffic all day long. PLEASE USE STEALTH AT ALL TIMES to preserve this cache from being muggled. The hint gives precise details as I want to make the cache as easy as possible to find. Replace as found as the hint wont make much sense otherwise.

Sankey Railway Station (Sankey For Penketh)

Sankey railway station, also known as Sankey for Penketh, is a railway station in the west of Warrington, Cheshire, England, serving the Great Sankey, Penketh and Whittle Hall areas of the town. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated byNorthern Rail. It is designated by English Heritage as a Grade II listed building.[1]

Services are approximately hourly in each direction, towards Widnes and Liverpool Lime Street to the west and towardsWarrington Central and Manchester Oxford Road in the east. There are 2 trains per hour during peak hours time and the station is closed on Sundays.

The main station building is the original (dating from the opening of the line in 1874) and of a standard style used by the Cheshire Lines Committee. It is used as a booking office and waiting room, though part of the building is a house and another part disused. Passengers have little shelter available when the main building is closed and seats are only available on the Manchester bound platform, which has recently had a shelter installed. The station is staffed on Monday to Saturday mornings. At other times you must buy a ticket from the conductor on board, all railcard fares are valid. There is a car park outside and the former goods yard has been used for building houses.

There is no space for a pen so don't forget yours

Congratulations to Potters Catchers on being FTF less than 2 hours after it was hidden!!!
