EDIFÍCIO BANESPA
De nome oficial Edifício Altino Arantes, é por todos conhecido como Edifício Banespa. Este é um dos prédios mais emblemáticos da capital, sendo o 3º mais alto da cidade e o 5º do Brasil. Construído a partir de 1939, pelo interventor federal Ademar Pereira de Barros para sediar o Banco do Estado de São Paulo (Banespa), e inaugurado em 1947 também por Ademar de Barros quando este era governador de São Paulo, foi durante mais de uma década o mais alto da cidade, até ser superado pelo Mirante do Vale, em 1960. Seu projeto inicial foi alterado para fazê-lo à semelhança do Empire State Building, em Nova Iorque. Logo após a inauguração, na década de 1940, chegou a ser considerado a maior estrutura em concreto armado do mundo.
A torre do edifício pode ser visitada gratuitamente em todos os dias úteis das 10h às 15h. Não deixe de aproveitar e terá uma vista maravilhosa da cidade de São Paulo!

BANESPA BUILDING
Having the official name of Altino Arantes Building, is known by all as Banespa Building. This is one of the most emblematic buildings of the capital, being the 3rd highest of the city and the 5th in Brazil. Built from 1939, by the federal interveneer Ademar Pereira de Barros to host the State Bank of São Paulo (Banespa), and it was inaugurated in 1947 also by Ademar de Barros when he was governor of São Paulo, for over a decade it was the highest building of the city, until it was overcome by Mirante do Vale, in 1960. Its initial project was modified to make it similar to Empire State Building in New York. Right after the inauguration, in the 1940 decade, it was considered the biggest concrete structure in the world.
The tower can be visited for free every weekdays from 10h to 15h. Do not miss this opportunity and you will have a wonderful view over the city of São Paulo!
