Amon Hen, or "Hill of Sight" was the westernmost of the three peaks at the southern end of Nen Hithoel, above the falls of Rauros. The seeing seat was built on top from which Gondor and it's neighboring lands could be seen. It was built in the Second Age.
This letterbox is best found from the Christopher Mountain Fire Road. When dry, any high clearance vehicle can easily navigate it, but I wouldn't recommend it if wet or in snow. The online maps are NOT accurate, do not try to get there via Colcord Road, because the eastern part of the fire road is blocked off and not maintained. Rather, take highway 260 past Christopher Creek and Sharp Creek Campground, and turn at my posted waypoint.
Drive to the parking coordinates then hike. It is just under a 2 mile roundtrip. For those with true/narrow 4X4 you can drive even closer.
