OCA - PAVILHÃO LUCAS NOGUEIRA GARCEZ
Oca é o nome dado à típica habitação indígena brasileira. O termo é oriundo da família linguística tupi-guarani. As ocas são construções de grandes dimensões, podendo a chegar a 30 m de comprimento.
Este edifício que faz lembrar uma Oca, foi projetado por Oscar Niemeyer em 1951, para compor o conjunto arquitetônico original do Parque do Ibirapuera, construído para comemorar o IV Centenário da Cidade de São Paulo, que se deu em 1954.
A Oca abrigou no passado o Museu da Aeronáutica de São Paulo e o Museu do Folclore. Mais recentemente, o edifício tem sido utilizado para abrigar grandes exposições quando passou a ser administrado pela Secretaria Municipal de Cultura a partir de 28 de junho de 2010.

OCA - LUCAS NOGUEIRA GARCEZ PAVILION
"Oca" is the name given to the typical indigenous brazilian. The name derives from the linguistic family tupi-guarani. "Ocas" are constructions of big dimensions, that can reach up to 30 meters wide.
This building that resembles a "Oca" was projected by Oscar Niemeyer in 1951, to compose the original architectonic set of Ibirapuera Park, built to comemorate the IV Centenary of São Paulo City, that was held in 1954.
The "Oca" hosted in the past the "Aeronautics Museum of São Paulo" and the "Folclore Museum". More recently it has been used to host big exhibitions when it started to be administrated by the Municipal Cultural Department from 28th June 2010.
