Where?
The event's headquarter (BASE) (registration, meals, accomodation, before party) is in the Forest School of Sziágy (Sziágyi Erdei Iskola). The school operates in a nicely renovated building that once was a forester's lodge in the middle of the forest of Rinyabesenyő.
The Sziágyi Erdei Iskola is in the Southern part of Somogy county. The closest settlement is Rinyabesenyő (small village with 200 inhabitants), 2.5 km away. It can be reach on a good quality dirt road. The village of Lábod is 8 km, the nearest city, Nagyatád is 17 km, the county seat, Kaposvár is about 50 km away.
When?
It lasts from the afternoon of Friday, April 11th till Sunday, April 13th.
What exactly?
On Friday, April 11th: Before-party at the Base
Cooking on open fire in the garden of the Base. Enjoy the food (that we cook and what you bring to share), have fun, and meet fellow geocachers! Expect the food to be ready by about 6 pm, you are welcome to show up any time after 3 pm.
Please, make sure you let us now how many of you are coming on Friday so there is enough food for everyone!
ATTENTION: The event is outdoors, wear several layers of cloths! Though the ice-tea will keep you warm inside, it may be cold outside!
On Saturday, April 12th: The main event
You will have a competition with a great hike or you may just stay at the Base and catch up with your geocacher friends.
From 9:00 am: Registration, start of the competition
The competition will be near the Base. Stages to be found will be placed within a 2.5 km radius. Coordinates will be uploaded to your GPS at the time of registration on site.
About 1 pm - 3 pm: Lunch
Bring your own or enjoy a nice warm meal prepared on-site.
2 pm - 4 pm: Organized activities - not only for children!
2 pm - 4:30 pm: Find the Easter bunny's nest! - for children
Latest by 4 pm: Return to the Base. 4 pm: End of competition.
About 4:30 pm: Announcement of the results
Optional program for Sunday, April 13th
- Visit the Otter Park of Petesmalom (Petesmalmi vidrapark)
- Enjoy Virágfürdő, an aquapark and spa in Kaposvár
- Cache-cache-cache
Cost
Dinner on Friday: cost based. It will depend on the number of people showing up. Count around 800 Ft/person. Please, let us know how many of you are coming!
The registration fee for the competition on Saturday is 1,000 Ft/team.
You will get 25% off the registration fee if you wear a garment with DDRKT logo.
Lunch on Saturday: 1,200 Ft/person. Please, write in your log how many portions your team needs!
Easter gift pack for children: 250 Ft. Please, let us know how many you need!
Deadline for registration: April 10th, Thursday.
You are welcome even if you arrive unregistered, but you may not be able to get lunch.
Accommodation
Suggested accommodation is at the Base
There are 3 rooms available, with 10 beds (5 bunk beds) in each.
Each room has its own bathroom.
Price for adults: 2,750 Ft /person/night - if less then 20 people will stay. 2,500 Ft/person/night if 20 or more beds are reserved
For children: 1,750 or 1,500 Ft/person/night.
The beds have only a blanket. It is recommended to bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. Comforter and pillows can be rented, if needed for an additional 500 Ft/person, but you still need to bring your own duvet and pillowcase!
Check-out time is 10 am. You may stay int he room longer for an additional 800 Ft.
Please, let us know in your "Will Attend" log if you require accommodation. Beds will be given out on a first reserve, first serve basis, so, please register early!
You will be informed by mail about the status of your registration.
