Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Snoqualmie River valley near Carnation.

JUNE 2023 -- cache was freshen up and re-hidden. We put the trackable found in Other Side of the Falls in the cache. 3/2/2021 UPDATE: Cache has been "freshened" which includes a good cleaning, a new "waterproof" logbook and a brand new sharpie plus pencils. Seems like the pens that were in there were leaking. 3/20 marks the 20th birthday for this cache! 9/11 hadn't happened, there was no such thing as an iPod (iPod, not Ipad!) and Wikipedia hadn't launched yet! This area has changed a bit over the years but still a rewarding climb with some peek-a-boo views! ---Cache cows It is a nice walk and a great place to explore if you have some time! UPDATE!!!! There has been concern expressed by Geocachers about the damage done to the area around this cache. The cache is located within feet of the trail and it is NOT necessary to bushwhack or climb up or down the hillside to find the cache. It should be re-hidden at the coordinates with the cache partially visible from the trail. The original cache was replaced with a red and white water jug. Please respect the terrain while looking for the cache -- you should NOT need to step off the trail to find it. If a previous cacher hid it harder than need be, please replace it properly. Thank you! It seems some geocachers are going from this cache to one named "In a Hallow" by climbing the hillside to reach that cache. Please DO NOT do this -- respect the land PLEASE!!! We will remove this cache if necessary for the preservation of the area. Thanks for the reports and concern. Original post from 2001: The short half mile journey to this cache climbs about 300' to a small clearing. [NOTE: this small clearing seems to have overgrown since we hid the cache.] We were able to get good GPS signals but would recommend getting a "lock" before entering the woods. If it rained recently, it may be muddy. The cache is a white and orange water jug [NOTE: Now RED and white] marked with coordinates [NOTE: not written on new jug] and loaded with goodies. There's a small Batman comic book, new oil drain plug that doesn't fit a Toyota Tercel, yellow rubber cow eraser, small stapler with staples, plastic "safe" kids multi-tool leg thing, Bucky badger coffee mug, plastic combo telescope-microscope, nose flute, Oscar-Mayer weiner whistle and the "Cache Register." If finding the cache isn't enough, there is also an orienteering course near this location. (Not sure this is still true). This is also a popular mountain biking area.
