Geocache Description:

The Rhode Island Armada returns to Pawtuckaway by way of Hawaii!

We had such a great time at the lake last year, making new friends and enjoying the paddling, that we decided to make this an annual trip.

This is a land based event, accessible by land or by sea, depending on preferred method of transport.  The event will be at one of the picnic spots near the beach - since we cannot reserve a specific site, you'll just have to look for us. We will raise a Rhode Island flag (white flag with an anchor on it) once we get situated. We will meet from 4:00-6:00pm.  We will have the grill up and running, so BYOFood for the grill.  We will have utensils and plates.  We will also provide soda and water. If you are walking in, you may want to bring a camp chair or stool, as there may not be enough seating to go around!

This is a Hawaiian themed event, so feel free to wear your best Aloha shirt, grass skirt or coconuts.  We'll try to have some fun and games complete with prizes.

Some things of note:
1) There is a fee to access the park if you are not camping.

2) There may be a park host checking boats for invasive plants/algae. PLEASE BE SURE TO CLEAN YOUR BOAT BEFORE COMING UP! Some Simple Green, water and a brush does wonders.

3) Several parking coordinates are provided. P1 is the beach parking.  P2 is parking at the north end of the lake if you want a nice long paddle.  P3 is the canoe launch near the camp store.  See the Waypoint information below for additional details for each parking area.

The Rhode Island Armada members will meet at P3 at 8:30am with a launch time of approximately 9:00am, so that we can enjoy some paddling on the beautiful lake before the event. If you are local, feel free to join us for the pre-event paddling.

Anyone planning to stay overnight at the campground is responsible for making their own arrangements. Pawtuckaway Campground is a great location to camp at! Sites can be booked at ReserveAmerica.com.
