Tsukuba Rin Rin Road
There was a 40-kilometer railway connecting between Tsuchiura and Iwase stations in the old days. It is said that trains running against a background of Mt. Tsukuba were popular among the railway fans. However, the railway was abolished in 1987 unfortunately. The railway site has been now reused as a cycling path called Tsukuba Rin-Rin road. The road is now used for recreation healthfully. Of course, it is also used for daily life such as commuting and shopping. Recently, a big walking event is held on the last weekend of May.
This is the Wherigo cache to visit all station sites of the old railway. The order of visits is not important. When you visit all sites, the coordinates of the actual cache will be displayed on the Wherigo player. The cache is placed within 3km from the listed coordinates. Therefore, it is effective to start from the Iwase station.
I tried this by bicycle on March 8th 2014. First, I went to the Iwase resting station by a car. I stopped the car at the station and went out by bicycle along the Tsukuba Rin Rin Road from Iwase to Tsuchiura. It took about 4 hours. I came back with JR trains from Tsuchiura to Iwase. Figure 1 shows the tracking log of my GPSr.

Please mention the time required for this as a reference. I would like you to try this without using the fossil fuel especially in the case of FTF.

つくばりんりんロード
かつて土浦駅と岩瀬駅を結ぶ全長40キロほどの筑波鉄道がありました。筑波山を背景に田園のなかを走る列車は人気があったそうです。しかし残念ながら1987年に廃止されました。そして廃線跡地は、つくばりんりんロードと呼ばれる県道501号桜川土浦自転車道線となりました。今では健康で快適なレクリエーションの場として、また通勤・通学・買い物などの日常生活に使われる自転車道となっています。最近では、5月につくば100キロウォークという催しも開催されています。
このキャッシュは、むかし筑波鉄道の駅があった場所を訪れるWherigoキャッシュです。駅があった場所は遺構が残っているものもあれば、よく分からなくなっているものもあります。分からなくなっている場合は、おそらくこのあたりというエリアを設定しています。訪れる順番は関係ありません。Wherigoプレイヤーには現在地から5km以内にある未訪問場所がLocationに表示されると思います。WherigoプレイヤーのTaskの欄に未訪問の情報が出ると思います。すべての場所を訪れたあとにキャッシュの座標を知ることができます。表示の座標は土浦駅近くで、キャッシュの設置場所は表示の座標から3km以内です。なので岩瀬駅から来られた方が効率的かと思います。
私は2014年3月に動作確認をかねて自転車で試みました。岩瀬休憩所に車を置いて、りんりんロードを自転車で土浦まで行き、そこから常磐線と水戸線を使って岩瀬に戻りました。りんりんロードの所要時間はキャッシュメンテ等や休憩の時間を含めて約4時間でした。トラックログをFig.1に示します。
