The Tawny Scrawny Lion at Grandpas Pond Wherigo Cache

This WIGO will take along a paved trail around Grandpa's Pond. It will follow the story in the book, and includes three special events that will test your persistence, memory, and luck. Pay attention to the instructions for these events and they shouldn't be too tough to figure out. The WIGO is designed to be kid-friendly, but you will need an adult to help work through some of the activities during the game.

The first event is the "meadow". This resembles an easter-egg hunt, where you have to walk circles in the meadow until you find all the vegetables. Due to restrictions on Garmin devices, only five vegetables are available at any given time, so you will need to walk through the same area multiple times to collect everything you need. This requires paying attention to where you are, returning to the meadow when your device tells you that you have left, and the ability to walk quickly for five minutes. My 4 year old could do this event, but people with leg injuries have had some trouble.

The second event is fishing at the pond. You will help the rabbit catch some fish, and hope you're lucky enough to get fish instead of boots.

And finally, in the last event you will test your memory by memorizing a recipe and then making a delicious virtual meal with it.

This Wherigo is meant to be fun. If you are getting frustrated, please let me know and I can give you a little help. Please do not share the final coordinates - you are welcome to do the activity as a group, but just handing out the coordinates at the end makes it so others do not even get the chance to enjoy (or get frustrated by) this WIGO. Please be honest, and have fun!
