Geocache Description:

SLAGA Spring Picnic 2014

This year, the SLAGA Spring Picnic heads north to Spanish Lake Park. This 242-acre park features a stunning lake that's perfect for fishing, ball fields, trails, a cross-country course, football field, tennis courts, a basketball court and playgrounds.

We will be meeting at the Manny Broadway Shelter. With a capacity of around 300 people, lots of picnic tables, electricity, water and barbecue pits, this shelter is a great place with plenty of room for all of us. It is totally wheelchair accessible and dog friendly, too!
DETAILS

SLAGA will be supplying the hot dogs, brats and hamburgers along with condiments, plates, napkins and utensils. We ask that you bring a side dish or other food to share and your drinks. The prices will be as follows:
  • Adults $5.00
  • Kids 5-12 $2.00
  • Kids 4 and under free
Please post your "Will Attend" log as soon as you can with the number of people attending, your preference of meat and how many you'd like. This allows us to order what we need without buying too much. Please list what dish you will be bringing as well.


We will be having a 50-50 drawing (you must be present to win), Geo Bingo, Silent Auction, Travel Bug Table and a Closest to the Pin contest.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

  • 9:30 a.m. - Set up.
  • 10:30 a.m. - Registration begins.
  • 1:00 p.m. - Lunch begins.
  • 3:00 p.m. - Silent Auction bidding ends and all games close.
  • 3:30 p.m. - General announcements and business, Milestone Awards, Silent Auction and 50-50 winners, GeoBingo and Closest to the Pin results, and Premium Membership drawing.
2014 SLAGA TB RACE

Once again this year, Team State is sponsoring the wildly popular and fun SLAGA Travel Bug Race! Read below for all you need to know:

  • Registration for the race will take place at the SLAGA spring picnic on May 10, 2014. If you are unable to attend the picnic you must email Team_State the trackable#/cacher information before the day of the Spring Picnic.
  • Trackables must start with zero miles.
  • Once the trackables have been placed no participants of the race may pick up any of the registered trackables.
  • Trackables must be placed by their owner in a cache within fourteen days of the picnic (May 24, 2014).
  • The trackable with the most miles on it by 1 week prior of the SLAGA Winter Potluck and Cabin Fever (Date TBA) will be declared the winner.
  • The winner will be announced at the SLAGA Winter Potluck and Cabin Fever-2015.
  • Contact Team_State for questions or to register TB if you will not be attending the Spring Picnic.
Also, SLAGA has a few new Travel Bug tags (for the race) that will be available for $5.00 at the spring picnic.
