The parkland of 16 hectares with 3 lakes, nature trails and wooded hillside with much flora and fauna is the back ground for one of the largest collections of wild waterfowl in the country. There are over a 130 species of swans, geese and ducks, many endangered, as well as rare pheasants, cranes and other exotic birds. The Upper and Middle Lakes are privately owned and are open to the public at Bank Holidays.
The lower lake where the cache overlooks, is a very attractive & secluded private lake of almost 5 acres that is owned by is owned by the Godalming Angling Society and purchased in August 1989. This is one of those rare Lakes where the fishing really is secondary to the location. Set in a secluded valley on the edge of Godalming, Busbridge Lake is surrounded by mature trees and has numerous sets of lily pads throughout the summer months and into early autumn. The pads and two fallen trees (deliberately left in the lake) are the favourite haunts of the small head of mature carp.
Kingfishers are always resident here as are deer, fox and rabbits which are regularly seen in the grounds.
The cache can be accessed from a path which runs along the edge of the Lake and you are looking for a small clip lock box in a camo bag.
Just to make things a little interesting - you might like to note down the stamper colour.....it could be useful info....in time.
