Greater Cincinnati Region
The Greater Cincinnati Region has some amazing locations that are family friendly and many with great history!
- Did you know that Cincinnati was home to the first professional baseball team?
- Did you know that Cincinnati was home to the first professional Fire Department?
- Did you know that 8 of the United States Presidents have their roots in Ohio with 4 of them being from the Greater Cincinnati region?
- Did you know that Greater Cincinnati isn't just South-West Ohio but it also encompass parts of Northern Kentucky and South-East Indiana!
- Did you know Fountain Square has been the symbolic center of Cincinnati since 1871. The square, which replaced a butcher's market, was the site of an Indian mound when the first white settlers arrived.
- Did you know that we have our own style of chili?
Cincinnati-Style Chili – Between more than 140 different chili parlors, Cincinnatians eat more than 2 million pounds of chili each year topped by 850,000 pounds of shredded cheddar cheese. Cincinnati Chili contains finely ground beef, seasoned with a mixture of spices. Some aficionados report a distinct hint of cinnamon and sometimes even chocolate. It is characteristically served over spaghetti or as coney sauce, with oyster crackers on the side.
