"Konkovo" belongs to a series of new stations built in the very end of the Soviet era. It was open to public in 1987. Before that date the neighbouring "Belyaevo" station served as a terminus for 13 years. All those who lived further to the south-east used buses to get to their homes from the metro station. Actually, in the end of 60ies there was no Moscow yet around here but only fields, woods and villages (Konkovo was one of them).
"Konkovo" is a shallow station (8 m).
One could observe strange sculptures by Burganov near the station for long period of time (including a huge palm with a batterfly sitting on its fingers). These constructions were all moved away in the end of 90ies supposedly following the requests from local residents. From my point of view these sculptures added something nice and unusual to the area. Currently the crossroads at the metro station is a typical city suburbs, noisy and dull.

"Коньково" относится к новым станциям, созданным в самом конце Советского Союза. Она была открыта в 1987 году. До этого 13 лет конечной станцией ветки на этом направлении была "Беляево", а дальше люди были вынуждены добираться автобусами. Впрочем, еще в конце 60-х здесь никакой Москвы, по сути, не существовало, а были поля-леса и деревеньки (Коньково - одна из них).
"Коньково" - мелкая станция (глубина 8 м).
Долгое время у станции Коньково можно было видеть странные фигуры работы скульптора Бурганова (включая огромную ладонь с бабочкой, сидевшей на пальцах). Фигуры убрали в конце 90-х якобы по просьбе местных жителей. На мой взгляд, они придавали району хоть какой-то колорит. Сейчас перекресток у метро "Коньково" - типичный окраинный район столицы, шумный и скучный.
