Esta é uma música gravada pelo grupo de música Americano Village People lançada em 1979. A Marinha contactou o gerente do grupo Henri Belolo para utilizarem a música como campanha publicitária na televisão e rádio. Belolo deu os direitos de graça na condição de que a Marinha os ajudasse a gravar o videoclip. Menos de um mês mais tarde, Village People chegou à base naval de San Diego onde a Marinha disponibilizou o navio de guerra USS Reasoner (FF-1063), vários aviões, e a tripulação (na condição de que não podiam dançar). Foi o último single a entrar nos 10 melhores, chegando a #3 nos Estados Unidos e #2 na lista UK Singles.

IN THE NAVY
This is a song recorded by American disco group Village People released in 1979. The Navy contacted group manager Henri Belolo to use the song in a recruiting advertising campaign for television and radio. Belolo gave the rights for free on the condition that the Navy help them shoot the music video. Less than a month later, Village People arrived at the San Diego Naval base where the Navy provided them with the USS Reasoner (FF-1063) warship, several aircraft, and the crew of the ship (with the stipulation that they couldn't dance). It was the last top 10 hit for the group, reaching #3 in the United States and #2 in UK Single charts.
