Welcome Aboard the United States Coast Guard Cutter Taney (WHEC-37). This event will kick off the “You Sank My Battleship Series” We will muster on the Pier V in front of the Taney at 0800 and I will be happy to load up the series into your GPS.  Please bring the device and the USB cable that goes with it.  I will provide coffee and donuts. A fun event at a unique location even if you have no interest in doing the series. Locals and tourists visiting Baltimore, stop by say hi and meet some fellow cachers. It doesn't matter if you have found one geocache or thousands....all are welcome.

The night before the event, on 9 May at 1700 (that is 5 PM) is a once in a lifetime chance to to sleep onboard USCGC Taney. For information about this opportunity please check out Overnight on USCGC Taney Use the password: "Geocache". You do not have to stay aboard the Taney to attend this event.

The You Sank My Battleship Cache Series will be a power trail of sorts in the greater Baltimore area. The series is based on the classic board game Battleship. The trail showcases and honors US Navy and Coast Guard ships that were constructed in Baltimore.  Most (not all) of the trail’s caches are located on the paved Waterfront Promenade bicycle/walking trail, stretching around the Harbor from the Korean War Memorial in Canton to Fort McHenry in Locust Point– so a bicycle might be a handy tool in their retrieval.  Lots are located near the water but none of them will require a boat.
