Geocache Description:

A Letterbox Hybrid that is not hidden at the posted coordinates. You will need to use both your GPS and follow directions to the final. The pictures may be a big help to find the letterbox. In addition to the normal logbook and trade items, it also contains a letterbox stamp, inkpad, and stamp book. Please do not remove the stamp, ink pad, or stamp book. THEY ARE NOT TRADE ITEMS!

After the destruction of Beleriand at the end of the First Aid, Lindon, or "land of the singers" was established by Ereinion Gil-galad, the high king of the Noldor. This coastal land, between the Blue Mountains and the sea, was said to be lush and green. The Gulf of Lune divided it into north and south. Gil-Galad ruled all the Noldor from Forlindon in the north, Celeborn ruled the Sindar from Harlindon on the south. At the eastern border of the Gulf of Lune lived Cirdan the shipright in Mithlond, or the Grey Havens. The land prospered through the Second Age, but many of the elves died in the battle to defeat Sauron at the end of that age. In the Third Age, many more elves departed west from the Grey Havens to the Undying Lands.

To find Lindon Letterbox, park at the listed coordinates, go through the gate, then follow the old road east (right) for about 0.4 miles to the first waypoint. [If you have an ATV, dirt or mountain bike, I recommend you leave them at the parking area since the road is narrow and obstructed.] Resist the urge to park on the highway below the waypoint and hike straight up: it is not safe and will not save you any time.

Once you reach the first waypoint, you will need to hike straight up the draw to the posted coordinates. This is the toughest part of the hike. Fortunately, after the first 100 feet, it becomes much less steep.
Once you reach the posted coordinates, look Northwest to a hill with a lone juniper tree (see photo).

Follow the top of the ridge to the west and around to this tree. Once there, you will see a group of rocks ahead at the top of a hill. The letterbox is hidden in these rocks, about 500 feet from the tree. I've posted the last digits of the final coordinates in the hint in case your search is difficult.

This is a letterbox hybrid. In addition to the normal logbook and trade items, it also contains a letterbox stamp, inkpad, and stamp book. Please do not remove the stamp, ink pad, or stamp book. THEY ARE NOT TRADE ITEMS!
