SWE: National Football League (NFL) är en professionell liga för amerikansk fotboll i USA, bestående av 32 lag. Varje lag spelar 16 matcher. Vid slutet av grundserien går sex lag från varje konferens vidare till slutspelet som är en utslagsturnering där de två sist kvarvarande lagen spelar finalmatchen i den så kallade Super Bowl. Finalmatchen spelas i månadsskiftet januari/februari på en förvald plats som normalt är en stad som har ett NFL-lag eller ett populärt college-lag. Uppemot 110 miljoner amerikaner tittar årligen på Super Bowl, och ett stort antal ytterligare världen över. TV-sändningen har genom åren trissat upp priset på reklamannonsering och idag kostar en annons på 30 sekunder under Super Bowl cirka 4 miljoner dollar.
Super Bowl nr 48 spelades den 2 februari 2014 på MetLife Stadium i East Rutherford, New Jersey – strax utanför New York City. Arenan rymmer 82 500 åskådare, och är normalt hemmaarena för lagen New York Giants och New York Jets. Det var första gången som Super Bowl spelades i vinterklimat på en utomhusarena. Finallagen var Denver Broncos och Seattle Seahawks, och Seahawks vann matchen och blev därmed World Champions.
Amerikansk fotboll finns även i Sverige och Uppsalas stoltheter är Uppsala 86’ers som vunnit SM-guld 1991 och 1992. För närvarande tränar och spelar 86’er inte på denna plan utan på Österängens IP. Men det är fullt möjligt för alla att prova på amerikansk fotboll på planen intill cachen, och försöka att göra ett ”field goal” mellan de gula stolparna.

At the end of the regular season six teams from each conference advance to the playoffs which is single elimination tournaments where the last two remaining teams play the final match in the so-called Super Bowl. The final match will be played in late January / February at a pre-selected site which is usually a city that has an NFL team or a favorite college team. Nearly 110 million Americans watch every year at the Super Bowl, and a large number of additional viewers worldwide. TV coverage over the years has pushed the price of advertising, and today costs for an advertisement of 30 seconds during the Super Bowl, is about 4 million dollars.
Super Bowl No. 48 was played on February 2, 2014 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey - just outside New York City. The stadium holds 82,500 spectators, and is normally home to the teams, New York Giants and New York Jets. This was the first time that the Super Bowl was played in winter weather on an outdoor arena . Final Act was the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks, and the Seahawks won the game to become World Champions.
American football is also played in Sweden, and Uppsala's pride is Uppsala 86'ers who have won national championships in 1991 and 1992. The 86'ers are currently practicing and playing not on this field but at Österängens IP. But it is quite possible for everyone to try out American football on the field next to the cache, and try to make a "field goal " between the yellow poles.

I cachen låg från början 10 stycken travel bugs bestående av en amerikansk fotbollshjälm i minatyr med vidhäftad TB-tag. Hjälmarna var från olika lag i NFL som säsongen 2013-2014 inte lyckades ta sig till Super Bowl. Uppgiften var att försöka hjälpa dessa lag genom att få TB’n över till New York. Eftersom området i New Jersey där MetLife Stadium ligger är så nära förknippat med New York så räckte det med att TB’n landar i antingen New York state eller New Jersey. Först dit var Carolina Panthers, ägd av BestBear - Stort Grattis!!!! 
Efter drygt 14 månader var det till slut Carolina Panthers som lyckades ta sig först till New York! !

In the cache there was originally 10 pieces of travel bugs consisting of an American football helmet in miniature with adherent TB. The helmets were from different teams in the NFL who didn’t make it to the Super Bowl the season 2013-2014. The task was to try and help these teams by getting the TB over to New York. Since the area in New Jersey where MetLife Stadium is so closely associated with New York it was OK for the TB to land in either New York state or New Jersey. And the Winner was Carolina Panhters >Carolina Panthers, owned by BestBear!
