Geocache Description:

This is a cache that was designed to be located at night. You will need to bring a GOOD flashlight (powerful beam with adjustable focus). A good headlamp will be even better.

This cache is located in the Illinois Bayou Park and it will take only about 20 minutes to complete the search. The Park is open to the public until 10:30 PM. Therefore, please do not start your hunt for this cache after 10 PM . Otherwise, you might have an unexpected encounter with Russellville’s Finest!

To find this cache, you will follow a trail of reflective white markers located on trees in the park that will eventually lead you to the cache hiding spot. A bright flashlight or good headlamp is recommended. These reflectors are best seen when the light is held close to your head at eye level. Because of this, I have found that a headlamp works best for spotting them. Also, the reflectors will be much easier to see when it is actually dark. Therefore, it is recommended that you wait at least 1 hour after sunset before starting your hunt.

Start your adventure by going to the posted coordinates. Standing there, use your flashlight and look in all directions to locate the first reflector. Proceed to that reflector and, standing close to it, use your flashlight (again, looking in all directions) to find the second reflector and proceed to that location. Continue this process to follow the trail of reflectors, which will eventually lead you to the cache.

To follow these reflectors, you will have to bushwhack a short distance through the woods. So wear proper footwear and be careful to watch your step. Also, watch carefully for the reflectors and don’t go charging blindly through the woods. Make sure you see the next one before proceeding! But they should be pretty easy to follow. When you see a group of 4 reflectors arranged in a diamond shape, you will be at the cache's hiding spot.

You will be looking for a camouflaged peanut butter jar containing a logsheet and maybe a few trade items. There isn’t a pencil or pen in the cache, so be sure to bring your own writing instrument. Be sure to rehide the cache and cover it up properly, so that it remains concealed from muggles who just might be passing by in these woods.

Oh, by the way, don't forget to check the lid for the clues needed to find the bonus cache Mt. Nebo View Bonus Cache (GC4XNF8). Don't forget to write them down!

Once you have found the cache and returned it to its hiding spot, look for orange reflectors which have been placed to guide you back out to the parking area. You will be making a big loop and not returning the way you came in.

I hope you enjoy this cache! Please share your experience in your online log!
