Decer's Intervention & Therapy Group Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

madhauler: We had a great turn-out, some 70-80 cachers; glad everyone had a good time chatting with old geo-friends and meeting new ones. Time to archive this event.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

The purposes of this event are:
•    To meet other geocachers (new and experienced) and make geofriends.
•    To enjoy a good meal together.
•    To claim an easy smilie.
•    To cure Decer of his “trackables problem,” if possible!

►  Intervention Group:

Your help is desperately needed! Our friend, Decer, has a “trackables problem:” He can’t find enough to log. In fact, he’s logged over 2,500 trackables, and he wants more; he thinks he needs more! Perhaps, if we inundate him with trackables, there may be a slight chance this may cure him, and he just might return to “normal” (whatever that is!).

Therefore, everyone is invited to bring all of your activated trackables to the event: Geocoins, travel bugs, big, small, etc. They may be personal trackables, or they may be ones you found while caching; we’ll “discover” all that you bring.

Here’s the best part: Decer, as a part of his therapy, will compile a master list of the trackables that “attend” the event. Then he will email a copy and provide simple instructions that explain how to “discover” large numbers of trackables quickly and easily. Your trackables count should increase substantially!

♦ NOTE: If you bring 3 or more trackables, PLEASE print the codes on a sheet of paper (include your geoname and email address) and present it to Decer. You MUST use the code found on the bug’s tag or on the geocoin (NOT the code found on the webpage).

► Three Great Reasons to Attend:

  1. ST.FU created two challenge caches, both require logging a large number of trackables. Attending this event will help cachers qualify for:
  1. Madhauler has an offer for you. Give him a personal trackable (geocoin or TB), and he will log miles as he travels; lots of miles; thousands of miles! He will “haul” one (1) trackable per family; however, kids 12 and younger may place their own trackable, in addition to their family’s. He makes no promises or guarantees for the amount of miles logged. His goal will be to move your trackables over 100K miles during the next year. Then, return them to the owners at another event. Again, the amount of logged miles is NOT guaranteed.
  2. As a final incentive, madhauler will treat for dessert! All who participate in Decer’s Intervention & Group Therapy, will receive a cupcake made from the kitchens of Wegmans. (Dinner and beverage are on you.)

► Please Bring:

  • Your activated personal trackables and ones found while geocaching.
  • A list of your trackables, if you are bringing 3 or more to the event. Include your geoname, email address, and the codes found on the TB’s tag or on the geocoin.
  • A trackable to drop with madhauler (one per family; kids 12 and under may each drop their own). NO guarantees on the number of miles logged.
