Geocache Description:

Here is my 26th Church Micro. Your looking for a micro tube

For those not in the know The Church Mirco Series is intended to be as big a cache size as you can muster, Steve (sadexploration) explains.
The series is called ‘Church Micro’ I encourage cachers to hide as large a cache as it's possible to. It’s just that Church 2.5 Lt clip box’ didn’t quite roll off the tongue as well.

So onto the church description.

The Parish of Westfield only came into being in the early 50’s. Worship, though, has gone on in Westfield over the last 100 years. Evensong was first said in a house in Elm Terrace in 1902 by the miners living in Westfield. They wanted a church of their own and so in the end there have been three churches built since that time. The first was in front of what is now Continuforms, the second on the site of the present church car park and lastly the present church built in 1988.

St Peter's Westfield is a modern church consecrated in 1988. This is the latest home for the community which had 3 buildings on or near this site in the 20th century; meeting initially in a redundant Somerset and Dorset Railway carriage. The current church has both new stained glass and incorporates some from the 1953 Church Building. During periods of rebuilding we enjoyed the hospitality of Westfield Methodist church, a relationship which continues with shared services to this day Over the years St Peter’s has grown in numbers and offers worship of varying types to a wide variety of people.
